Several independent bands and artists have entered the Lifest Talent Search and they need your votes.  Only a select number of the artists featured will be chosen to perform at Lifest, and your votes are what get them there.

Simply go to the voting page where you can register, then click on each artist to view their biography, band information and listen to a sample of their music.

Once you’ve decided who your favorite is, cast your vote.  It’s that easy!

You could earn a full event pass, a half-price ticket or a one-day ticket in exchange for your time! We need help with all areas of the festival from set-up and clean-up to security and sales!

The online application allows you to select your volunteer team and in most cases select your shifts and print your schedule. The sooner you apply the better schedule and team options you will have to choose from. If you apply before June 15th, you will receive FREE PARKING. If you apply after this date, you will need to pay for parking at the event ($20 for the full event or $10 per day).

If you are interested in working only one shift, you will need to wait until June 1st to fill out your application. We are allowing volunteers who are willing to work more shifts the opportunity to select their team and shifts first.

Lifest is teaming with the Christian Festival Association (CFA) once again to present a national talent search competition. Regional competitions will take place at festivals around the U.S, including Lifest. The competition is conducted online initially, and concludes at Lifest in a live competition among the finalists chosen by online voting. Eight (8) artists will be chosen by online voting and one (1) artist will be chosen by Life Promotions to compete live at Lifest. Voting will run from April 1st, 2012 to May 1st, 2012.

Artists selected for the Lifest live tournament will be required to pay an additional $100 fee. This fee will cover full event passes for all band members and one (1) non-electric campsite if you choose.

Each full day of Lifest (Thursday, Friday, Saturday), three bands will compete by playing one (1) 30-minute set. A winner will be chosen each of the three days. The daily winners will move on to compete on Saturday, July 14th in a one-song playoff on the Lifest Edge stage to determine a winner.

The Lifest event winner will be combined with all of the event winners from around the country. These finalists will be voted on both through a National fan voting page and consideration by the CFA National Talent Search panel to determine the 2011 CFA National Talent Search Winner.

The Grand Prize Winner receives:
- Full performance slot at each participating 2013 CFA festival (stage and time slot to be determined by each individual festival).
- Inclusion on artist list of each participating 2013 CFA festival. www.christianfestivals.com
- Featuring of National winner on all participating CFA member festival websites.
- Listing on all participating CFA member festival Facebook pages promoting winner.
- 3 songs recorded free in Chicago land. (Artist is responsible for travel / meals / lodging). Tracking and mixing will be provided.

- Lifest Deadline for Band Registration: April 15, 2012
- Lifest Voting Period Open for Fans: April 1 – May 1, 2012
- National Finalist Fan Voting: September 15 – October 31, 2012

As one of the founding members of the band, Korn, Brian is well known in mainstream culture, but his story of how life as a mega-star couldn’t satisfy the longing inside for more gripped the hearts of attendees.  He’s still rocking out like never before, but doing it for a higher purpose.  He will be at Lifest for our kick-off night on Wednesday, July 11th on the Edge Stage. In addition to his pre-headlining performance for the Newsboys, he will also be presenting a “heart of the artist” session with questions and answers, plus a guitar clinic.  Lincoln’s guitar skills caught the attention of Steve Perry and Journey’s Neol Schon, and was featured on their albums.  Lincoln’s instructional guitar videos are highly sought after and you’ll be able to get some personal insight from Lincoln on improving your guitar skills.

It continues to be noted as one of the most memorable Lifest experiences for many. Lifest welcomes him back on Saturday, July 14th.

Contrasting Steven’s style is the band Underoath, also appearing at Lifest on Saturday, July 14th on the Edge Main Stage.  Their hard core stage show will not disappoint.

Appearing on Friday, July 13th will also be Family Force Five, practically creating a double-headliner night on the Grandstand. They will appear prior to Casting Crowns, providing a nice contrast of styles and a night everyone can enjoy.
