Tenth Avenue North Coming to Lifest

When Tenth Avenue North came on the Christian music scene in 2008, they took the radio waves by storm, quickly earning them the title of New Artist of the Year in early 2009. Their ability to challenge audiences to a deeper walk of faith while simultaneously encouraging them with the truth of God’s grace has propelled Tenth Avenue North to the forefront of the Christian music industry, and captured the hearts of thousands of listeners.

“We try to meet with people after all of our shows; it’s important to us to connect,” says lead singer, Mike Donehey, of meeting with fans in the band’s seemingly endless autograph lines. “The reason we’re in this is to talk to people, engage with people and hopefully, disciple people.”

Tenth Avenue North will appear at Lifest on Saturday, July 14th as the pre-headliner before Steven Curtis Chapman on the Grandstand Stage. Also announced… Building 429, The Whosoevers, David Dean, Daren Streblow, Mark Schultz and Superchick.

Brian “Head” Welch to Perform and Speak

Making his first appearance at Lifest in 2011, Brian “Head” Welch made an incredible impact. As one of the founding members of the band, Korn, Brian is well known in mainstream culture, but his story of how life as a mega-star couldn’t satisfy the longing inside for more gripped the hearts of attendees. He’s still rocking out like never before, but doing it for a higher purpose. He will be at Lifest for our kick-off night on Wednesday, July 11th on the Edge Stage. Lincoln Brewster Returns with Guitar Clinic

Lincoln Brewster, who appeared at Lifest for the first time in 2011 for the Sunday worship service, is returning to Lifest for 2012 on Thursday, July 12th. In addition to his pre-headlining performance for the Newsboys, he will also be presenting a “heart of the artist” session with questions and answers, plus a guitar clinic. Lincoln’s guitar skills caught the attention of Steve Perry and Journey’s Neol Schon, and was featured on their albums. Lincoln’s instructional guitar videos are highly sought after and you’ll be able to get some personal insight from Lincoln on improving your guitar skills.

More Artists Added to Line Up

Steven Curtis Chapman, Underoath and Family Force Five are the most recent additions to the Lifest line up. Many of you remember Steven Curtis Chapman’s courageous appearance at Lifest in July of 2008 after the tragic death of his daughter, Maria. It was his first concert after the incident, and when he unexpectedly sang “Cinderella,” which wasn’t in his original set list, there wasn’t a dry eye to be found. It continues to be noted as one of the most memorable Lifest experiences for many. Lifest welcomes him back on Saturday, July 14th.

Contrasting Steven’s style is the band Underoath, also appearing at Lifest on Saturday, July 14th on the Edge Main Stage. Their hard core stage show will not disappoint.

Appearing on Friday, July 13th will also be Family Force Five, practically creating a double-headliner night on the Grandstand. They will appear prior to Casting Crowns, providing a nice contrast of styles and a night everyone can enjoy.

Switchfoot Kicks-Off Lifest!

After having been absent from the Lifest line-up for a few years, Switchfoot and Jon Foreman are returning to Lifest for one of the largest kick-off nights in Lifest history. More details will be coming about the new outreach opportunities that will be available for inviting non-churched friends to see this great band in concert!

Casting Crowns Won Your Votes

In a recent Life Promotions survey, Casting Crowns received the highest number of votes from fans as the band they’d like to see the most. We’re excited to announce that they will light up the Grandstand Stage on Friday, July 13th at Lifest. Fronted by Mark Hall, who also serves as a youth pastor, this group continues to forge the way in Christian music and earn the respect of fans everywhere.

Newsboys Pre-Lifest Concert

Not only will the Newsboys perform at Lifest on Thursday, July 12th, they will also be in the area on May 3rd as part of their “God’s Not Dead Tour,” which is making its stop in more than 60 cities around the US. The May 3rd event will take place in Menasha, WI at Christ the Rock Church and is being presented by Life Promotions. Bob Lenz, Lifest founder, is the featured keynote speaker on the tour.
